ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN PIERCED BONE & SILK FAN - BUTTERFLIES DESCRIPTIONBeautiful antique Edwardian fan, with carved and pierced bone sticks and guards and handpainted silk gauze leaf which has been highlighted with sequins. The guards and sticks have been produced from carved and pierced bone, which have been highlighted with silver gilt paint to the scrolling carved detail. The fan is held together with a steel pin and loop.AGEThe fan would date to the beginning of the 20th century, circa 1910.SIZEThe fan measures 45cm (17½") across when opened to it's fullest, and is 25cm (10"). CONDITIONThe fan is in a very good condition, although one of the sticks has broken in two (all pieces intact so could be repaired). The leaf is in a good condition, although the gauze is just beginning to split at back guard.
