Jamiexmas* Store Very Fine Antique 1870’s Black Waist Coat With Hand Done Soutache and Embroidery And ID This piece is dated 1870’s on the rear buckle which also reads Paris and is penned with ID on the rear belting JW Chapman. The waist coat is fashioned of a fine cashmere and wool blend with four satin buttons enclosing the front. The piece is fully hand sewn throughout with hand done soutache and embroidery running up the front in a wonderful heart shape with embroidery on the pockets and embroidery and soutache trimming the lapels. White cotton fully lines the interior, a pinstriped black silk backs the piece. The piece is in near pristine condition, the only flaw is that the inner lapel has several surface moth nips, the condition is otherwise pristine and is just in need of a cleaning to remove surface lint from estate storage. Measures 46 inches around the chest, 38 inches at the waist, and 22 inches in length.
