Vintage Dofan Handbag in Brown (Town Brown). This roomy satchel clutch is of the finest calf in slim, tall lines. (the white splotches that are larger than a pinpoint, are from the camera. The bag has 2 white pinpoint marks, 1 a lil lower than middle of bag to the left & 1 about 3" up from the bottom to the far right.) There is a scratch on center line in the middle) the sides have light wear from normal use. I may sound nitpicky, but I would rather over describe than underdescribe!click picture to enlarge Dofan Handbags have Unusual handle treatments which makes them a stunning handbag. They were located at 33 E. 33 St. in New York. These were high end purses back in the 1930's thru 1960's. I believe this bag to be from the 1940's to 1960's. I have tried to research this particular purse, but was unable to come up with a correct date. This is great for a new or avid collector of these beautifully crafted purses. A pitch from a magazine from the 1960's describes the Dofan bag as "Calf takes beautifully to fall colors in the handbag line seen at Dofan Handbags". Measures 10" from clasp to bottom, 15" from handle to bottom, 12" handle, 8" across the front & 2 1/4" wide. The clutch opens 7" wide.
